Custom-made ESD insoles are specifically designed for use in safety shoes that must comply with ESD standards according to EN 61340-5-1. According to the DGUV Rule 112-191, the use of these orthopedic insoles is strictly regulated to ensure the necessary ESD protection. Only certified insoles may be used, which guarantee that the ESD function of the shoes is maintained.A special insertion foam (DPV-3550 foam) is required for the customization of the insoles. Customers can request the foam and create an impression of their foot by stepping into it. This impression is then used to manufacture the insoles individually. With a private prescription, the customization can be even more specific. After completion and finishing by an orthopedic shoe technician, customers receive their tailor-made insoles, which still meet the standards of a certified work shoe.
These processes ensure that every wearer of safety shoes enjoys not only optimal comfort but also compliant safety standards.

This regulation stipulates that orthopaedic insoles may only be used in safety footwear in conjunction with a valid type examination. This is to ensure that specified and tested properties (e.g. antistatic properties) are maintained.
