Safety shoe Captain John ESD
The safety shoe Captain John ESD by BAAK is a discontinued model from the "Baak Ultralight" series, offering a combination of protection and comfort. This low-cut shoe is available in sizes 39 to 48 and features an attractive black-anthracite color scheme. It includes an innovative nano-fiberglass flex cap and a metal-free textile penetration guard, certified according to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and EN ISO 20345 S1P SRC standards.
The upper material is made of high-quality microfiber combined with nylon textile, making the shoe exceptionally breathable. The sole, made of LIEVA (liquid injected EVA) and nitrile, provides full-area cushioning and excellent slip resistance. The Boa® closure system allows for quick putting on and taking off of the shoe, while the standard width 11 and the option for orthopedic insole provision (DGUV 112-191, ÖNORM Z 1259) offer additional wearing comfort. Weighing only 490 g in size 42, this safety shoe is ultralight and supports fatigue-free work. The "Baak Softstep" insole is replaceable, enhancing the hygiene and durability of the shoe.

ESD approved
Shoes have been tested in accordance with the specifications of DIN EN 61340. They generally have a volume resistance of 7.5 x 10^5 to 3.5 x 10^7 ohms.
Safety class S1P
Shoes with a protective toe cap made of aluminum, plastic or steel. They are slip-resistant, antistatic and have energy absorption capacity in the heel area. They also have a puncture-resistant steel midsole and a closed heel area. A fuel-resistant sole is also possible.
Metal-free toe cap
Metal-free toe caps are plastic/composite toe caps made of fiber-reinforced plastic. They are lighter than steel or aluminum caps and are not thermally conductive.
Slip resistance SRC
The shoe is slip-resistant both on ceramic tiles with NaLS (sodium sulphate solution) and on steel floors with glycerine.
Penetration protection/midsole metal-free
The penetration protection protects the foot from nails and other sharp objects. Metal-free penetration protection made of textile fabric is lighter and more flexible and covers the entire surface of the foot. However, very sharp objects can penetrate it.
Very lightweight shoe
The shoe is made of textile material and therefore has a low weight (size 42 less than 500 g). The low weight significantly reduces the effort and energy required from the wearer.
Vegan
The shoe is leather-free and free from other animal products. No animal materials or auxiliary materials with components of animal origin are used in production either.
Exchangeable insole
The insole is not firmly integrated into the shoe, but only inserted loosely. It can therefore be easily replaced if necessary.
DGUV 112-191
This regulation stipulates that orthopaedic insoles may only be used in safety footwear in conjunction with a valid type examination. This is to ensure that specified and tested properties (e.g. antistatic properties) are maintained.
