This ESD safety shoe from BIRKENSTOCK combines outstanding comfort with exceptional quality and safety. Made from high-quality leather and equipped with a nitrile rubber outsole, it offers high slip and abrasion resistance as well as good cushioning. The original BIRKENSTOCK footbed with continuously conductive bedding optimally adapts to the sole of the foot and supports the foot, ideal for long workdays in EPA areas.
Additionally, the shoe is equipped with a steel toe cap, scratch-resistant toe protection, and a metal-free penetration guard, classifying it as Class S3. The insole is replaceable and made of cork/microfiber.

Due to their additional ESD features, the ESD shoes ensure a reliable protection against spontaneous static discharge and are therefore ideal for the use in EPAs. For their manufacturing BIRKENSTOCK uses high-quality materials from Europe. The outsole are highly slip- and abrasion-resistant providing good shock absorption. The unique BIRKENSTOCK footbed Professional adapts perfectly to the sole of the foot due to its surface structure. Thereby it supports the foot offering the wearer best wearing comfort even during long working days.
In compliance with the ESD standard DIN EN 61340-5-1 
ESD approved
Shoes have been tested in accordance with the specifications of DIN EN 61340. They generally have a volume resistance of 7.5 x 10^5 to 3.5 x 10^7 ohms.
Safety class S3
Shoes with a protective toe cap made of aluminum, plastic or steel. They are slip-resistant, antistatic, waterproof and have energy absorption capacity in the heel area. They also have a puncture-resistant steel midsole, a profiled outsole and a closed heel area. A fuel-resistant sole is also possible.
Steel toe cap
Steel toe caps are somewhat heavier than other materials, but are very stable and resistant. As a rule, they can withstand a force of at least 200 joules.
Slip resistance SRC
The shoe is slip-resistant both on ceramic tiles with NaLS (sodium sulphate solution) and on steel floors with glycerine.
Penetration protection/midsole metal-free
The penetration protection protects the foot from nails and other sharp objects. Metal-free penetration protection made of textile fabric is lighter and more flexible and covers the entire surface of the foot. However, very sharp objects can penetrate it.
Exchangeable insole
The insole is not firmly integrated into the shoe, but only inserted loosely. It can therefore be easily replaced if necessary.
