The KNIPEX 7702120 ESD side cutter is specifically designed for use in the electronics and aerospace industries, where extreme demands are placed on cutting performance by hard or tough materials such as piano, nickel, tungsten, and diode wire. This high-quality tool features precision-engineered carbide cutting edges that are soldered into forged blanks to ensure precise cuts even in the hardest materials. The hardness of the cutting edges is between 80 and 83 HRC, which offers a significantly longer lifespan compared to conventional cutting edges.The pliers are characterized by a stable, riveted, and play-free joint, which permanently ensures reliable cutting results without deformations due to overload. The handles are electrically conductive and dissipative, ideal for ESD-safe work. With a length of 120 mm, a width of 50 mm, and a weight of only 85 g, the side cutter offers excellent handling. The tool made of mirror-polished tool steel is robust and durable.
Additionally, the large bevel allows cutting soft materials up to 2.0 mm, medium materials up to 1.4 mm, hard materials up to 1.02 mm, and piano wire up to 0.6 mm in diameter. The high cost savings due to the longer life and minimal maintenance make this side cutter a valuable investment for professional applications.

The cutting pliers of the Knipex standard series are equipped with precision-ground cutting edges for finest cutting work, e.g. in electronics and fine mechanics. A low-friction double spring ensures a smooth and even opening. The mirror polish combined with a fine oil film offers a good rust protection so that errors in circuits by flaking chrome parts are prevented.
